Slay the Spire 2 Potions Database & Timing Calculator
Every live potion, one clean lookup. Filter the full list by effect, pool, rarity, or unlock wave, then use the timing calculator to answer the only question that matters in a real run: should you drink it now, or are you still saving it for a better fight?

Who Maintains This Page
A calculator without ownership is just a fancy guess. These signals show who maintains the tool, which live ruleset it matches, and where the responsibility boundary stops.

Visible copy, links, and page-level signals were checked in the latest review pass.
If a patch moves the numbers, wording, or assumptions behind this page, the page gets revised, narrowed, or rechecked again.
Tool pages cover the math, tables, and assumptions surfaced by the current UI on this route.
Timing advice is maintained judgment layered on top of the live potion dataset. Route context and belt pressure still matter more than one generic line.
How to Read Potion Value
Potion value is not theoretical power. It is how much easier the next dangerous node becomes after you click. Keep the bottles that solve elites, bosses, or ugly draws. Spend the rest before a full belt turns future rewards into dead drops.
Count badges on this page always show what they are counting, such as potions in a timing bucket, potions in a pool, or potions added by an unlock wave.
Carry them for pathing
Use these when the bottle changes route quality, saves a Rest, or keeps the next dangerous node clean.
Spend them for tempo
These are made for the turn that wins a race, fixes a draw, or removes one enemy cycle immediately.
Save the ceiling
These scale hardest when the fight is long, the matchup is specific, or the payoff is simply too large for a hallway.
Keep one panic button
These are strongest when a fight is about to get away from you. They are there to stop the bleed, not look pretty.
Interactive Tool
Potion Timing Calculator
This calculator is displayed here near the top of the page, directly below the opening timing guide. Pick the bottle, describe the room, and let it push back against the usual bad habit of holding everything forever.

Entropic Brew is close to a profitable click.
Its ceiling is still ahead of you. Unless slot pressure is biting, the better payoff usually arrives in an elite, boss, or any longer fight.
Best trigger
Save it for the first elite, boss, or long fight where the extra ceiling changes the result instead of just padding a clean win.
If you wait
Overholding is the danger now. If the hard fight has arrived, keeping it for a mythical better spot is just lost tempo.
Slot pressure
One more drop can force a decision. Start ranking what actually deserves storage instead of pretending every bottle is sacred.
Potion Pool Map
The pool matters. Shared bottles are the broad baseline. Character bundles widen that baseline with three class-specific picks each, while event and token entries sit outside the ordinary reward rhythm.
Shared rotation
The broad all-class shelf. Two general unlock waves expand it with six extra bottles.
Event-only brews
Context-driven bottles that sit outside the normal shared and character pulls.
Token entry
A special token-style bottle that does not behave like a standard reward pull.
Unlock Waves
These are the seven potion unlock waves currently tied to progression. General unlocks expand the shared pool, while character lines each add a three-potion bundle.
Browse All Potions
Filter the list by effect, timing, rarity, and pool. This keeps the lookup fast when you want one answer instead of the whole shelf.

Shared pool
Fruit Juice
Gain 5 Max HP.
When to spend it
Spend it when it changes route quality, prevents a forced Rest, or keeps the next dangerous node from costing real HP.
What makes it worth holding
The hold value is pathing. If the route is still safe and your belt is roomy, waiting is fine. Once the next reward would bounce, that patience turns into waste.
Why it matters
Its real value is future HP saved, better route freedom, and not being forced into a weaker rest-site decision.

When to spend it
Use it when it removes one enemy cycle, creates lethal, or turns a shaky turn into a clean one right now.
What makes it worth holding
These bottles age badly in a crowded belt. If the current fight is real, immediate tempo is usually worth more than a hypothetical cleaner turn later.
Why it matters
Treat it like a setup shortcut. The best turn is usually the one where it unlocks a line your hand could not produce on its own.

Potion Synergy Notes
The strongest potion setups usually come from slot management, refill pressure, or effects that turn every click into extra output.
Capacity first
Extra slots let you hold niche answers without turning every new drop into a forced discard.
Refill engines
Once the belt refills itself, potions stop being luxury storage and start becoming part of the route plan.
Convert clicks into swing
The strongest potion pieces do not just store value. They turn the click into damage, tempo, or another fresh bottle.
Know the tradeoffs
Some relics reward empty slots or shut the supply off entirely. Those tradeoffs change how every bottle should be valued.
Potion FAQ
What does the timing calculator actually weigh?
It weighs the potion's normal timing window, the current fight context, how much pressure you are under, and how close your belt is to clogging. The point is not perfect play in a vacuum. The point is cleaner live decisions.
Are character potions in the same pool as shared potions?
No. Shared potions come from the common shared pool once their general unlock waves are open. Character unlock lines add their own three-potion bundles on top of that.
When should I drink route-heal potions?
Drink them when the heal changes pathing, prevents a forced Rest, or keeps an elite line open. Drinking early for empty comfort is usually how value leaks out.
Why spend a common potion before the next elite?
Because a common potion that saves one attack cycle or one bad turn has already paid for itself. The real waste is losing the next reward because the belt stayed full for no reason.
